Irwindale, Calif. – July 24, 2025 – Rize Credit Union and the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles hosted a ribbon cutting today to celebrate the opening of the Amigo Lounge at the Mid Valley Family YMCA in Van Nuys.

The Amigo Lounge offers YMCA members a quiet, welcoming space to study, search for jobs, and participate in free financial education workshops hosted by Rize Credit Union – helping individuals and families, especially those in underserved communities, build confidence and long-term success.

“Partnerships like this bring our vision to life – meeting people where they are, with tools and care that empower growth,” said Jennifer Oliver, CEO of Rize Credit Union.

The lounge is an expansion of the concept that won The Pitch, the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues’ Shark Tank-style competition introduced at REACH 2022. The event was attended by local community leaders, along with representatives from several elected officials. The Amigo Lounge is now open to all Mid Valley Family YMCA members.
