Youth in foster care are typically given a trash bag to pack up their belongings when they’re removed from their homes.
When you open an account with SCE Credit Union in the month of May, we’ll donate a Comfort Case with an insanely soft Barely Canadian hoodie to a youth in foster care.
Donations will be made through nonprofits helping and supporting children in foster care, including Echoes of Hope, Kidsave, and Foster Nation, among others.
At SCE Credit Union, we’re dedicated to creating meaningful change. When you open an account with us, you’re not only taking a step toward financial freedom, you’re also helping youth in foster care.
Comfort Cases works to eliminate trash bags from the system and show children in foster care that they matter and there are people who love them. Comfort Cases are filled with new, essential comfort and personal care items for youth entering and exiting the foster care system, including pajamas, blankets, towels, hygiene kits, books, journals, coloring books, crayons or pencils, stuffed animals, and for this initiative, a Barely Canadian hoodie. Combined value of over $400.
History of National Foster Care Month
Celebrating 35 Years of Support and Advocacy
More than three decades ago, President Ronald Reagan recognized the vital importance of supporting foster youth and established National Foster Care Month. Since then, this annual observance has served as a platform to highlight the ongoing needs of children in foster care and to promote efforts aimed at their well-being and success.
Promotional period: 5.1.24 to 5.31.24. For every Rize Federal Credit Union (RFCU) membership opened with a unique Social Security number, Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, or Foreign Identification number during the promotional period, RFCU will make a donation to Echoes of Hope, Foster Nation, or Kids Save, among other organizations. The donation is paid by RFCU and goes to the organizations in the form of a Comfort Case with a Barely Canadian “The Insanely Soft Hoodie”. Donation will have no impact on membership.
